6.17 Assemblin the shock absorber cartridge

Measure the inside diameter at several places of the outside
fork tube.
Inside diameter of the out­
side fork tube
If the measured value is greater than the specified value:
-
Change the outside fork tube.
-
Check the outside fork tube for damage.
If damage is found:

Change the outside fork tube.

Check the surface of the slide bearings.
If a bronze-colored layer f) under sliding layer (;) is visi­
ble or the surface is rough:
-
Change the slide bearing.
-
Check the piston rod for damage.
If damage is found:
-
Replace the piston rod.
-
Measure the outside diameter of the piston rod at several
locations.

Replace the piston rod.

Measure the run-out of the piston rod.

Replace the piston rod.
