Desktop Management Interface
The Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF) is an industry body created in
1992 with the goal of standardizing systems manageability. DMTF established
the Desktop Management Interface (DMI) framework to standardize access to
PC configuration data. Compaq, as a Steering Committee and Technical
Committee member of the DMTF, delivers hardware and software
instrumentation that supports the DMI standard.
Compaq Management Agents for
Workstations
Using the industry-standard Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
found in Microsoft Windows NT, Compaq Management Agents for
Workstations allows the system administrator to remotely view AssetControl
data, configuration data, memory change alerts, NIC performance data, and
contact information.
