System Bodies

The Inmarsat system consists of the bodies shown in the figure below.
NCS
LES
OCC: Operation Control Center
SCC: Satellite Control Center
NCS: Network Coordination Station
MES: Mobile Earth Station
LES: Land Earth Station
The function of each body in the Inmarsat system is as shown in the table below.

Function
The OCC is the nerve center of the
system and is located at the Inmarsat's
headquarters in London. The OCC
provides continuous, round-the-clock
cooordination for all functions in the
Inmarsat system.
The SCCs main function is to correct
satellite rotation error.
Each region has an NCS. The NCS
controls the lines of communication and
broacasts information such as
navigational warnings, weather reports
and news.
Mobile Inmarsat-B stations including
aircraft.
