ESE?
(IEEE-488, RS-232)
(Event Status Enable query) Returns the contents of the Event Status Enable (ESE)
register. (See Chapter 5 for more information.)
Parameter:
None
Response:
(Integer) Decimal equivalent of the register byte.
Example:
*ESE?
Returns "140" if bits 2 (QYE), 3 (DDE), and 7 (PON) are enabled (1) and the rest of the
bits are disabled (0).
*ESR?
(IEEE-488, RS-232)
(Event Status Register query) Returns the contents of the Event Status Register (ESR)
and clears the register. (See Chapter 5 for more information.)
Response:
(Integer) Decimal equivalent of the register byte.
Example:
*ESR?
Returns "140" if bits 2 (QYE), 3 (DDE), and 7 (PON) are set (1) and the rest of the bits
are reset (0).
EXPLAIN?
(IEEE-488, RS-232)
(Explain Error query) Explains an error code. This command returns a string that
explains the error code furnished as the parameter. The error code (same as the
parameter) is originally obtained by sending the FAULT? query. (See the ERR?
command, which returns both the error code and the explanation string.) See Appendix F
for a list of error codes and error messages.
Parameter:
<value> if the error code (an integer)
Response:
<string> that explains the error code, with the parameter (if there is one)
Example:
EXPLAIN? 539 returns "Can't change compensation now."
Return the explanation of error 539: "Can't change compensation now."
FASTEDG
(IEEE-488, RS-232, Overlapped, Coupled)
[ON or OFF] Set the output to the 150 ps edge rise time (normally off)- EDGE mode
only.
FASTEDG and TDPULSE cannot both be on. Turning one on automatically
shuts the other off.
