IBM 5500 UTILITY DISKETTE

Enter Selection:
3. Enter the desired operation number and press enter. The system displays
your selection in the upper corner (refer to the example, the Current Mode
= 1 (RETRIEVE).
4. To exit, enter 5. The Utility diskette is configured to perform your
requested operation when you boot the 5500 Express IP Control Unit with
the diskette.
5. Insert the configured Utility diskette into the diskette drive of the 5500
Control Unit.
6. If the unit is operating, press the Start/Stop button and release it when
both the Test LED and Ready LED lights are on solid. After some time
both LEDs will go off and the unit will shut down. If the 5500 Control
Unit is not operating, plug in the power cord.
7. After several seconds the Ready LED will blink. The number of times the
Ready LED blinks should correspond to your desired operation. See Fig-
ure 21: "Example of the IBM 5500 Front Panel" on page 53.
8. Press the Start/Stop button to confirm the operation and start the process.
If this operation is incorrect, remove the diskette from the drive and press
the Start/Stop button. After the operation is complete, both the Test and
Ready LEDs blink. For any other LED blinking sequence, see Chapter 5:
"Troubleshooting" on page 69
9. Remove the Utility diskette from the IBM 5500 unit and press the Start/
Stop button to re-boot the 5500 Control Unit.
Planning, Installation, and Maintenance
Current Mode = 1 (RETRIEVE)
Copy current IBM 5500 configuration
and password to Utility Diskette.
Copy configuration and password from
Utility Diskette to IBM 5500.
Copy factory default configuration
to IBM 5500 (No Password Change).
Remove current password from
IBM 5500.
