Hearth Requirements


A non-combustible hearth is not required. Any material (combustible or non-combustible) must not
extend more than 1" (26mm) above the base of the fireplace (see illustration below).
WARNING: A non-combustible hearth is not required in front of the fireplace. However, if the fireplace is installed next
to the floor, we recommend a hearth to protect the flooring surface from discoloration or other negative
impacts from the heater.
