Important Precautions on Honda IMA System
In case of an accident
If the vehicle is damaged or collapsed during a crash, high voltage from damaged electric parts may cause serious
injury if you touch them. Never touch high voltage parts and related wiring (orange cables).
If electrolyte leaks from the battery, be careful not to let it get in your eyes or on your skin. If this occurs, flush with
water for at least 15 minutes, then immediately call a physician.
In case of a fire, use a fire extinguisher for electric fires. Putting on a small amount of water may enlarge the fire. If
you use water to put out the fire, use in a large volume.
Battery Disposal Information
Your Civic Hybrid is equipped with the 158-volt Nickel-Metal Hydride battery. Handling of this battery requires special
knowledge and skills. Always consult the Honda Dealer/Distributor in your area for proper disposal of this battery.
