POWERHEAD
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
To engage the oil pump shaft, install the oil pump
stop in the oil pan:
•
Install the stop washer and a new stop gasket
on the oil pump stop.
•
Screw the oil pump stop onto the oil pan (2-3
turns). DO NOT fully tighten the stop.
•
To engage the oil pump shaft with the groove in
the camshaft, insert and turn a screwdriver as
shown.
•
While holding the oil pump shaft in place with
the screwdriver, tighten the oil pump stop to a
torque of 37 ft. lbs. (50 N·m).
•
Bend two of the stop washer tabs in opposite
directions (one up and one down).

Install a new gasket on the bolt. Install and
tighten the bolt to a torque of 17 ft. lbs. (23
N·m).

Install the front panel bracket and two (2) bolts.
Install the shift shaft arm, the shift lever and shaft,
and the screw.
