The ET 200SP distributed I/O system meets the requirements and protection targets of the

programmable logic controllers published in the official gazettes of the European
Community:
● 2006/95/EC "Electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits" (Low-
Voltage Directive)
● 2004/108/EC "Electromagnetic Compatibility" (EMC Directive)
● 94/9/EC "Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive
atmospheres" (Explosion Protection Directive)
● For ET 200SP fail-safe modules, the following also applies: 2006/42/EC "Machinery
Directive"
