Filter/Water Separator
Draining the Fuel Filter/Water
Separator
Service Interval: Before each use or daily—Drain
water or other contaminants from
the water separator.
1.
Place a clean container under the fuel filter
(Figure
38).
2.
Loosen the drain plug on the bottom of the filter
canister.

Tighten the drain plug on the bottom of the filter
canister.
Changing the Fuel Filter
Service Interval: Every 400 hours—Replace the fuel

Drain the water from the water separator; refer
to
Draining the Fuel Filter/Water Separator
(page
43).
2.
Clean the area where the filter mounts

Remove the filter and clean the mounting
surface.
4.
Lubricate the gasket on the filter with clean oil.
5.
Install the filter by hand until the gasket contacts
mounting surface, then rotate it an additional 1/2
turn.
6.
Tighten the drain plug on the bottom of the filter
canister.
Inspecting Fuel Lines and
Connections
Service Interval: Every 400 hours/Yearly (whichever
