Risk for intrinsic safety
When a connector is mixed up on the SIMATIC CFU PA (e.g. PROFINET cable is mixed up
with PA spur lines), or if the cable is connected incorrectly to the PA field devices, intrinsic
safety is at risk:
● Only connect Ex i circuits (intrinsically-safe PA field devices) to the spur lines!
● Check the wiring to the PA field devices.
Installing the enclosure
In order to operate the equipment, you must ensure that the assembly work is carried out
correctly.
You can find information on this in section "Installing the CFU (Page 32)".
● Before connecting them, the cables must be stripped over the entire length specified in the
manual.
● When fastening the screws and cable glands, observe the required tightening torques; see
section "Tools and tightening torques (Page 149)".

Installing SIMATIC CFU PA bundle with aluminum enclosure on the mounting surface

Requirement
● The substrate must be level, with load-bearing capacity, and it must be vibration free.
● Select appropriate fixing accessories for the substrate.
Tools required
● 4 fixing screws M6; dowels depending on the mounting surface
● Screwdriver suitable for the screws used
● For enclosure screws: Screwdriver PH2 or with 9 mm blade width
