10.8 Adding field devices

Replacing a field device (with one of the same type)
1. Disconnect the field device to be replaced.
2. Connect the new field device (enable the respective fieldbus connection):
The new field device is ready for operation.
3. Reload the system-specific field device parameters using SIMATIC PDM.
Replacing a field device (with one of a different type)
1. Remove the field device from the configuration in HW Config.
2. Download the configuration.
3. Connect the new field device to the CFU PA.
4. Reassign parameters of the fieldbus connection of the CFU PA (FIELDBUS; FB<n>).

5. Download the configuration.
6. Reload the system-specific field device parameters using SIMATIC PDM.

Adding field devices
CFU in hazardous areas
If you are using the CFU in a hazardous area, you must observe the following sections:
● Section "Use in hazardous areas (Page 24)"
● Section "Compact Field Unit in the enclosure for use in a hazardous area (Page 109)"
Requirement
● The new field device (without necessary hardware addressing) has been reset to the factory
state.
You can find information about this in section "Restoring the state of delivery (Page 107)".
● The field device is not connected to the service port of the CFU.
● The field device is connected to a port of the CFU that has not yet been configured in the
CFU.
● The spur line to the field device is enabled.
