7.2.1 Operation Status When a Communication Error Occurs

"Communication error" is that the master station and any slave station cannot communicate with each
other. This may occur because the slave station is not turned on, or the communication cable may not
be wired correctly.
Note) When the error occurs, "Remote I/O communication error" (Self-diagnostic error code E46) will be
detected.The slave stations that cannot be communiated can be confirmed by the special data registers
DT9131(DT90131) to DT9137(DT90137).

1. Operation status of normal slave stations
When a communication error occurs, the following 4 types of operation can be seected for normal slave
stations

Note1) FP2 Multi-wire Link Unit: SW1, FP3 Master unit: SW7
Note2) The slave stations which have not been able to communicate will start the operation once the
communication error is eleminated (such as connecting cables and turning on the power supply again).
Note3) COMM: COMM. LED(COM. LED) of slave stations
If the mode selector switch "SW7" is off (so that the master unit will halt remote I/O control when a
communication error occurs), all of the slave stations will stop outputting data when an error occurs.
This operation is not affected by the mode selector switch "SW3" setting.
