Ins tall the shims
Install the shims and insulated washer onto the
preperly

noted
armature shaft.
dUf!ng removal
Install a new seal ring onto the mot or case.
ApplV grease to the oil seal lip and needle bearing in
the front cover.
Install the lock washer onto t he front cover.
Install the front cover.
Install new O-ring and washers onto the motor case
bolts.
Install and tighten the motor case bolts.
Coat a new O-ring with oil and install
it
in the starter
motor groove.
INSTALLATION
Install the dowel pin.
Install the starter molor inlo the rear crankcase
cover and onto the crankcase.
Install the mounting bolts with the ground cable and
tighten them securely.
Install the starter motor cable and ter minal nut, then
tighten the nut.
Install the rubber cap over the cable terminal.
Connect the battery negative H cable (page 19·5).
Install the following:
- air cleaner housing (page 6·5)
- seat (page 3·4)
