ELECTRIC STARTER
STARTER MOTOR
REMOVAL
Remove the following:
- seat (page
3-4)
- air cleaner housing (page 6-5)
Disconnect the negative H cable from the battery
(page 19-5).
Slide the rubber cap off the start er motor cable ter-
minal and remove the terminal nut and starter
motor cable.
Remove the two mounting bolts and g round cable.
Remove the starter motor from the crankcase.
Remove the dowel pin.
OISASSEMBL V !INSPECTION
Remove the O-ring from the starter mot or.
Remove the starter motor case bolts, washers and
O-rings.
Record the location
Remove the following:
and number of _
front cover
shims. _ lock washer
- insulated washer
- shims
- seal ring
