Symptom
The top margin is incorrect.
The printed surface of the paper is bumpy.

If the copy or scan quality is poor, refer to the following table.
Symptoms
Lines or streaks only present in copies made from the
document feeder.
Spots present in copies made from the document
glass.
The reverse side of the original document is showing
on the copy or scan.
Image is too light or too dark.
Solutions
• Ensure that the paper is loaded properly.
• Ensure that the margins are set correctly in the
application you are using.
• Clean the fuser rollers:
1 Print a solid image over the entire surface of
one sheet of paper.
2 Load the printed sheet into the tray with the
printed side face down.
3 Print five blank pages to remove debris from
the fuser rollers.
• Check the percentage of remaining life for the
fuser module. For details, refer to
Replace the fuser module when the percentage of
remaining life is less than 20 per cent. For details,

Solutions
There is debris on the document glass. When
scanning, the paper from the document feeder
passes over the debris, creating lines or streaks. Clean
all glass surfaces with a lint-free cloth.

Turn on Background Suppression.
• Copy: Use the Image Quality settings to lighten,
darken, or adjust contrast.
• Scan: Use the Advanced Settings Tab to lighten,
darken, or adjust contrast.
