value is determined based on the protocol
specified in ipRouteProto. Set to −1 if you do
not want to use this metric (this is also the
same for ipRouteMetric 2 through 4).

The alternative routing metric for this route.

The alternative routing metric for this route.
[(6) RW]
The alternative routing metric for this route.
[(7) RW]
The IP address of the next hop in this route
(for routes connected by a broadcast or me-
dia, this is the agent address or address of
that interface).

The type of route.
other (1): Not any of the following types.
invalid (2): An invalid route.
direct (3): A direct connection.
indirect (4): An indirect connection (not con-
nected to LOCAL).
[(9) RO]
This is the routing mechanism used to deter-
mine routes. Some values correspond to
gateway routing protocols, but be aware that
the host may not support those protocols.
Other (1): Other than the following items.
Local (2): A route set on the local machine.
Netmgmt (3): A route set by network man-
agement.
Icmp (4): A route set by an ICMP redirect or
some other ICMP function.
