Setting the Reference in Far End Source Mode

Turn on the tester and source and let them warm up
for 5 minutes.

On the Loss/Length tab in Setup set REMOTE END
SETUP to Far End Source.

Clean the connectors on the source and the reference
test cords.

Make the connections shown on the SET REFERENCE
screen and in Figure 7-12.

Turn on the far end source and verify the output is set
to the correct wavelength and is in continuous-wave
mode.

Optional: From the TEST SETUP screen, you can enter
reference test cord lengths to meet TSB-140 reporting
requirements:

Do not disconnect the reference test cord from the
tester or source after setting the reference. If you
do, you must set the reference again to ensure
