Note
• The scanner has three USB connectors. To insert a
USB flash memory, one on the front side is the most
convenient. Other USB connectors can be used also
if the connector on the front side has malfunctioned.

The file name will be assigned automatically
if you do not specify it. To specify the file
name, select [Change File Name...].

The [Change File Name] screen appears.

Specify the file name and the action to be
taken if a file name conflict occurs, and
select [Save].
Note
• For information on how to set the file name or to
specify the action to be taken in case of a file name
conflict, refer to "Using Scan to PC" (P.48).
Set the basic scan features
As necessary, set the features such as [Output
Color] and [File Format] on the [Basic Scanning]
screen.

Select the [Basic Scanning] tab.
The [Basic Scanning] screen appears.

Select the buttons of the desired features,
and configure the settings.

Set other scan features
As necessary, set other scan features such as
[Scan Size] and [Reduce/Enlarge] on the [More
Scan Features] screen.

Select the [More Scan Features] tab.

The [More Scan Features] screen appears.

Select the buttons for the desired features
and configure the settings.

Display the preview
As necessary, display the preview of the scanned
data and check the scan result.

Start the scan job
1.
Display the [Save In] screen, and press the
<Start> button.
The scanning starts. When the scanning is
complete, the scanned data will be saved on
the media.

Important
• When the document is loaded into the document
feeder, do not hold it while it is being fed.
• Do not unplug the media from the USB connector
during scanning or while the data is being saved.
Note
• If a problem occurs, the touch panel displays a
message. Follow the instructions in the message to
remedy the problem. If an error code is displayed,
refer to "Error Codes" (P.72) for suggested solutions.
• It may take some time for the scanner to start
scanning. The scanner starts scanning after verifying
the status of the media.
