Conventions
1. The illustration and scanner interface screens are based on a DocuScan C4250 connected with a
color printer. The procedural steps and computer screen shots are based on Microsoft
XP.
2. The following icons are used depending on the contents of descriptions.
Should be read when using the
Scan to PC feature.

Should be read when using the
copy features.

3. The following conventions are used in this manual:
[ ] : Items that appear on your computer screen or the touch panel display on the
scanner's control panel.
< > : The names of keys that appears on your computer keyboard or the hardware buttons
and lamps on the scanner.
4. In this manual, paper feed orientations are referred to as follows:
, Long Edge Feed (LEF) : Paper is fed into the scanner long-edge first.
, Short Edge Feed (SEF): Paper is fed into the scanner short-edge first.
