The DTE-mode auxiliary port is a DTE DB-25 plug for connecting a modem or
other DCE device (such as a channel service unit/data service unit (CSU/DSU) or
another router) to the Cisco 12404 router.
The console and auxiliary ports are asynchronous serial ports; any devices
connected to these ports must be capable of asynchronous transmission.
(Asynchronous is the most common type of serial device; for example, most
modems are asynchronous devices.)
Check your terminal's documentation to determine the baud rate of the terminal
you plan to use. If your documentation does not specify settings use the following
terminal settings.
Baud to 9600
1.
Data bits to 8
2.
Parity to no parity
3.
Stop bits to 2
4.
You must use an EIA/TIA-232 DCE console cable to connect the terminal to the
console port.
