Notes on display block 3:
As a result of a change in the load conditions at idling
speed, the required idling air mass at a constant en-
gine speed also changes.
What is displayed is the change in the idling air mass
in %. As soon as this change has been compensated
for by the learning process of the idling stabilisation,
the mean value is again reached. The extent of the
variation from the mean value depends on the extent
of the load change (e.g. by switching electrical compo-
nents on or off).
The learning process is carried out in small steps each
time the idling switch closes. Several steps are required
in the case of major differences. This necessitates
briefly blipping the accelerator pedal at intervals of about
20 seconds. Each time this is done, a further step of
the learning process is carried out.

The difference as a result of „drift“ then appears in dis-
play group 004, display block 2. The readouts of the
idling controller remain outside of the tolerance range
if the learned values in display group 04, display block
2 have moved against stop.
Stop values: -1.7 and +1.7 g/s, respectively
Notes on display block 4:
In the case of fault (00670) throttle valve positioner:
constant speed 840 rpm and air flow of 2.8 g/s.
In the case of fault (00670/16505/16506/16507) throt-
tle valve positioner and throttle valve potentiometer, the
digital idling stabilisation (DIS) is switched off and a
constant speed of approx. 1000 rpm and an air mass
of 2.8 g/s are output.
