Fuel Preparation / Fuel Injection
- If the specifications are not achieved, switch
off the ignition.
K - Connect test box V.A.G 1598/22 to the wir-
ing loom to the engine control unit ⇒ page
24-48, Replacing engine control unit.
- Unplug the 8-pin connector at the throttle
valve control unit.
K - Use multimeter V.A.G 1526 to test the wir-
ing between test box and 8-pin connector for
continuity.
- Use multimeter to test the wiring for short
circuit to each other.
- Rectify any open circuits in the wiring and
dirt at the contacts, erase fault memory (func-
tion 05) ⇒ page 01-6 and carry out basic
setting of engine control unit ⇒ page 24-53.
- If the specification is again not achieved, in-
spect throttle valve for dirt or sticking move-
ment and clean, if necessary.
- Repeat basic setting of the throttle valve con-
trol unit ⇒ page 24-53.
- If it is not possible to start the basic setting
or complete it successfully, replace throttle
valve control unit.
