Fuel Formation/Fuel Injection
If the specification is not achieved:
K - Connect test box V.A.G 1598/22 to the wir-
ing loom to the control unit.
K - Unplug the 2-pin connector -1- from the
power steering pressure switch (F88) -2-.
- Test the cables between test box and 2-pin
connector for continuity according to current
flow diagram.
- In addition, test all cables for short circuit to
each other.
Specification:
If no fault is found in the wiring:
- Connect the multimeter to the contacts of the
pressure switch.
- Start the engine and run it at idling speed.
Test the pressure switch for continuity.
Specification:
- Turn the steering wheel to full lock. The pres-
sure switch must switch to continuity.
Specification: 1.5 Ω
If the specifications are not achieved:
- Replace the power steering pressure switch:
Running Gear; Repair Group 48; Steering
If the specifications are achieved:
- Replace the engine control unit

Cable resistance: max. 1.5 Ω
