Final control diagnosis
Camshaft adjustment 1

Ignition System
Actuation of the camshaft adjustment is active.
Notes:
♦ Display field 4 indicates whether an adjust-
ment of the camshaft has in fact taken place.
♦ The camshaft adjustment takes place only
at full throttle; for this reason check the
readout in display field 1.
Specification without adjustment: -3.0 to 3.0 ° CA
Specification with adjustment: 15.0 to 22.0 ° CA
- If the specifications are not achieved, test
camshaft adjustment solenoid valve

♦ Vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552 with cable
V.A.G 1551/3
♦ Test box V.A.G 1598/22
♦ Hand-held multimeter V.A.G 1526 A or mul-
timeter V.A.G 1715
♦ Adapter cable set V.A.G 1594 A
K Installation position of solenoid valve.
- Switch on the ignition.
- Start final control diagnosis (function 03) and
select camshaft adjustment ⇒ page 01-30.
K Readout in display:
→
The valve should be heard to clearly click dur-
ing actuation of the camshaft adjustment.
