Sending E-mail
The machine can send e-mail with an added subject line, message body, and a reply-to address
in addition to the scanned documents. Scanned documents are sent as attachments that can be
TIFF, JPEG, MTIFF, or PDF files.
Sending an I-Fax (Internet Fax)
The machine can send scanned documents over the internet as I-faxes. I-faxes can be sent only
to other machines capable of receiving I-faxes. Scanned documents are sent as TIFF files. All I-
fax transmissions are sent as 200x200 dpi, LTR-size images, so that even a scanned document
as large as 11"x17" will be sent as LTR-size.
Sending to File Servers
The machine can send scanned documents to computers operating on Windows, Novell Net-
Ware, or Sun Solaris.
IMPORTANT
• When sending more than 100 scanned images (100 dpi monochrome images in TIFF format) over FTP,
make sure select MTIFF (Multi-page TIFF) to expedite the transfer.
Sending Jobs to a Mail Box
Scanned documents can be sent to a box, from which they can be printed or transferred. This fea-
ture is convenient when you need to send multiple documents at the same time, or when you
need to verify documents before they are sent.
Sending Jobs as Faxes
Scanned documents can be sent as faxes. This feature requires the optional fax board. For infor-
mation about sending faxes, see the Fax Reference Guide.
Sending to a Database
The machine can send scanned documents to databases such as Lotus Domino.
