The Backlight Off icon if administered, allows the users to bypass the timers in
the the backlight to its lowest level automatically. You can administer the Backlight Off icon on a
9600 Series IP deskphone softkey as described in
page 109.
The behavior of backlight for any adjunct button module depends on the backlight of the phone
to which you attach the button module.

Default operation:
After BAKLIGHTOFF minutes, the
backlight is set to low power mode.
After (SCREENSAVERON –
BAKLIGHTOFF) additional minutes,
the screen saver is displayed.
WMLIDLETIME has no effect.
After SCREENSAVERON minutes,
the phone displays the screen saver.
After (BAKLIGHTOFF-
SCREENSAVERON) additional
minutes, the backlight is set to low
power mode.
Every WMLIDLETIME minutes, a
GET is sent for WMLIDLEURI, and
the the phone displays a browser.
The Web page may contain a timer
to cycle through additional Web
