Chapter 1: Preparation for Use

[Air Assist] setting

[Air Assist] can be set per tray on the Change Individual Set screen. This function assists the
paper feed by air blowing. It is available on unstable paper feeding.
• In case of the Main body trays (Trays 1 to 3) and the Multi-Sheet Bypass Tray MB-
504, Air Assist function cannot be used.
• In case of Paper Feeder Unit PF-602, usually, the Air Assist function is set to [Auto].
According to the paper type or paper weight to use, it is necessary to change it to
[ON (Strong)], [ON (Weak)], or [OFF].
• In case of Large Capacity Unit LU-202 (Tray 4) or the cover tray of Perfect Binder
PB-503, the Air Assist function is set to [Auto], [ON] or [OFF].
In case of Paper Feed Unit PF-602 (Tray 4, Tray 5)

Press [Paper Setting] on the Machine Status Screen.

Press [Tray 4] or [Tray 5].
3.
Press [Change Set].
4.
Press [Air Assist].
