OSPF Debug Commands

To display information on selected OSPF processes, the following debug
commands can be used from the Privileged Exec mode of the CLI:

Function
Logs information about OSPF link state Ack packets.
Includes the following command line options:
• detail - Trace detailed information about link state Ack
packets.
• receive - Trace link state Ack packets received.
• send - Trace assert link state Ack sent.
Turns on logging or tracing for all OSPF packets.
Logs information about Constraint-based Shortest Path First
(CSPF) calculations. Includes an lsp option to enable a CSPF
trace for a particular label switched path (LSP).
Traces changes to the OSPF LSA database.
Traces OSPF database description packets. Includes [ detail
| receive | send ] options for tracing these packets.
Traces the OSPF designated router election process.
Logs information about the OSPF flooding algorithm.
Logs information about OSPF hello packets. Includes [ detail
| receive | send ] options for tracing hello packets.
Traces hitless restart on helper router.
Traces hitless restart on the restarting router.
Turns off all OSPF packet tracing
Logs information about all OSPF packets. Includes [ detail |
receive | send ] options for tracing OSPF packets.
Enables OSPF protocol and user-specified policy tracing.
Logs information on OSPF request packets. Includes [ detail
| receive | send ] options for tracing request packets.
Traces OSPF severity. Includes display and log options to
display and/or log the information
Traces Shortest Past First (SPF) calculations.
Logs information on OSPF link update packets used in
sychronizing OSPF databases. Includes [ detail | receive |
send ] options for tracing update packets.
