To check backslash:
•
Shut off the engine.
•
Rest the vehicle on its stand.
•
Engage neutral gear.
•
Check that at a point between
pinion and crown on the lower
branch of the chain, vertical os-
cillation is about 25 - 30 mm
(0.98 - 1.18 in)
•
Move the vehicle forward so as

to check the chain vertical oscil-
lation in other positions too
clearance should remain con-
stant at all wheel rotation pha-
ses.
CAUTION
IF CLEARANCE IS GREATER AT
SOME POSITIONS,
THAT SOME CHAIN LINKS ARE FLAT-
TENED OR JAMMED.
TO AVOID RISK OF SEIZURE, LUBRI-
CATE THE CHAIN ON A REGULAR
BASIS.
Adjust the clearance if it is uniform but
over or below 25 - 30 mm (0.98 - 1.18 in).

Voor de controle van de speling:
•
Leg de motor stil.
•
Plaats het voertuig op de stan-
daard.
•
Plaats de hendel van de ver-
snellingsbak in vrij.
•
Controleer of de verticale
schommeling, in een punt tus-
sen het rondsel en de kroon in
de onderste vertakking van de
ketting, ongeveer 25 - 30 mm
(0.98 - 1.18 in) bedraagt.
•
Verplaats het voertuig vooruit,
zodat de verticale schommeling
van de ketting ook in andere po-
sities kan gecontroleerd wor-
den; de speling moet tijdens alle
fasen van de rotatie van het wiel
constant blijven.
THIS MEANS
LET OP
ALS IN BEPAALDE POSITIES EEN
GROTERE SPELING AANWEZIG IS,
ZIJN ER VERPLETTERDE OF VAST-
GELOPEN SCHAKELS AANWEZIG.
OM TE VOORKOMEN DAT DE SCHA-
KELS KUNNEN AFSLAAN, SMEERT
MEN REGELMATIG DE KETTING.
Wanneer de speling uniform is, maar
meer of minder dan 25 - 30 mm (0.98 -
1.18 in) bedraagt, voert men de regeling
uit.
