3.2 Installing the Disk Array Unit and a FC Disk Enclosure in a
Rack
Install the NEC Storage S1500 disk array unit, FC disk enclosure), and / or SATA disk enclosure in the
rack. Place the disk array unit at the bottom of the rack, and place the disk enclosures above the disk
array unit.
IMPORTANT: The NEC Storage S1500 disk array unit weighs
40 kg or more.
The disk enclosure weighs 34 kg or more.
To install these devices in the rack, keep in mind that at least
three persons should lift the units.
3.2.1

Installing the Unit using a Rack Mount Kit

NOTE: The following procedures detail the installation of a rail
on the left part of a rack (viewed from the front). Install a rail
on the right part of a rack using a similar procedure.
The left and right rails are different from each other. Use the
correct rail when installing it on the rack. (See the figure
below.)
For each rail, the face labeled 'inner' must face the rear (see the
figure below).
