This Setup Guide is intended for users who can provide server system configuration and network
setup.
The Setup Guide presumes that the maintenance system meets the following requirements:
Server to be connected:
NEC Express5800 series
OS :
Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003
Configuration:
Direct connection with server only
Miscellaneous:
Modems are excluded from the target units.
The Setup Guide describes the general procedures of the following operations:
Setup of the NEC Storage unit itself.
Installation of the WebSAM NEC Storage Manager server and client software.
Configuration and start of SystemGlobe AccessControl and SystemGlobe
StoragePathManager utilities.
The Setup Guide only describes the setup procedures for a new installation. To add units to the system
or perform system configuration changes, refer to the relevant guides.
For detailed configuration procedures, refer to the "Disk Array Unit User's Guide" and to the user's
guide associated with each software product.
We recommend you ask your NEC trained service representative for assistance with the procedures
outlined in this Setup Guide.
