    Remote handset battery replacement 1. Slide the catch to the right hand side. 2. Remove the battery holder by pushing the holder in the direction shown. 3. Remove the battery from the holder. 4. Replace the battery (CR2025 or equivalent) ensuring that the positive side of the battery faces you with the holder positioned as shown.

    4. Plug the other end of the mains lead into the wall socket and switch on the wall socket. The display will show 'Roberts Enjoy Listening' for a few seconds. During this time the radio is scanning to fi nd a DAB radio signal.

    Operating your radio 1. Press and release the On/Standby button to switch on your radio. Scanning... When fi rst switched on, the radio will be in DAB mode. After each use the radio will remember the mode used and then switch on in that mode the next time that it is used.

    Selecting a station - DAB 1. Press and release the On/Standby button to switch on your radio. 2. Repeatedly, press and hold the Source button until the DAB mode is selected. The display will show the name of the radio station currently selected.

    Secondary services - DAB 1. Certain radio stations have one or more secondary services associated Station list with them.     Dynamic Range Control (DRC) - DAB The DRC facility can make quieter sounds easier to hear when your radio is used in a noisy environment. There are three levels of compression: DRC 0 No compression applied. (default) DRC 1/2 Medium compression applied. DRC 1 Maximum compression applied.

    Prune stations - DAB Over time, some DAB services may stop broadcasting, or may change location and then not be able to receive a station. In order to remove such stations from the DAB station list, the Prune stations function will delete the DAB stations from your station list that can no longer be received.

    Operating your radio - FM auto-tune 1. Fully extend the telescopic aerial. The aerial should be fully extended and positioned vertically for optimum reception. 2. Press and release the On/Standby button to switch on your radio. 3. Repeatedly, press and hold the Source button until the FM mode is 89.30MHz selected.

    Display options - FM BBC R2 Your radio has a range of display options for the FM mode:- The latest news The Radio Data System (RDS) is a system in which inaudible digital information is transmitted in addition to the normal FM radio programme. RDS offers several useful features.

    Scan sensitivity setting - FM Your radio will normally scan for FM broadcasts which are strong enough to give good reception. However, you may wish the Auto-scan function to also be able to fi nd weaker signals, possibly from more distant radio transmitters.

    Stereo / Mono setting - FM Your radio will play stereo FM broadcasts in stereo provided that the received signal is of adequate strength. However, as a stereo signal becomes weaker the audio signal will become poorer. It may be preferable to force the radio to play the station in mono in order to reduce the level of background hiss.

    Presetting stations You may store your preferred DAB and FM radio stations to the preset BBC Radio 4 station memories. There are 20 memory presets in your radio, 10 for The latest news DAB and 10 for FM. Presets are remembered by your radio in the event of a power failure.

    Disconnecting a Bluetooth device You can only have one Bluetooth device connected to the radio at any Bluetooth one time although it may be paired with several devices. <Pairing > Once you have a Bluetooth enabled device connected to your radio it cannot be interrupted by another Bluetooth device unless you choose to break the connection.

    Setting alarm time Your radio has an alarm which can be set to wake you to DAB, FM radio or beep type alarm. The alarm can be set to sound once, daily, on weekdays or at weekends. Note: The alarm can only be set when your radio is in standby mode. Note: If no buttons are pressed for 1 minute, your radio will exit the alarm setup.

The maximum volume used for the radio alarm will be specifi ed during the alarm setting procedure.
