Chapter 3

CPU (U5)

The ReadyBoard 800 supports three Intel processor choices; high performance Low Voltage (LV)
1.4GHz Pentium® M 738, or 1.1GHz Pentium M processor, or an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) 600MHz
Celeron® M processor.
Celeron M Processor
The Celeron M processor (Banias core) at 600MHz has 512kB L2 Cache on board, with a 400MHz FSB
(front side bus). The Celeron M processor use 130 nm architecture and requires a heatsink, but no fan.
Pentium M Processors
The Pentium M processor (Banias core) at 1.1GHz has 1MB L2 Cache on board with a 400MHz FSB.
The 1.1GHz LV Pentium M processor uses 130 nm architecture and requires a heatsink, but no fan.
The Pentium M 738 processor (Dothan core) at 1.4GHz has 2MB L2 Cache on board with a 400MHz
FSB. The Pentium M 738 processor uses 90 nm architecture and requires a heatsink, but no fan.

Memory

The ReadyBoard 800 memory consists of the following elements:
• DDR RAM SODIMM
Flash memory

DDR RAM Memory (J22)

The ReadyBoard 800 supports a single 200-pin DDR SODIMM socket.
• SODIMM socket can support up to 1GB of memory
• PC2700 DDR 333 operating at 166MHz (6ns)
• +2.5V DDR RAM
NOTE
Ampro recommends using PC2700 DDR 333 (166MHz, 6ns),
+2.5V, 200-pin, DDR RAM SODIMM for maximum performance.
The ReadyBoard 800 will operate acceptably with a PC2100 DDR
266 (133MHz, 7.5ns) SODIMM.

Flash Memory (U10)

There is an 8-bit wide, 512kB flash device used for system BIOS and it is connected to the LPC Bus.
The BIOS is re-programmable and the supported features are detailed in Chapter 4, BIOS Setup.
