    Important Information Please read this manual carefully before setting up and using the Rear Projection SMART Board 2000i interactive whiteboard. With proper care, your 2000i should provide years of trouble-free service. The projector inside the unit is a high brightness light source. Do not look directly WARNING into the beam of light.

    About the 2000i-DVS The Rear Projection SMART Board 2000i interactive whiteboard is a height adjustable, rear projection system with an integrated LCD projector and a 67" (170.2 cm) diagonal interactive SMART Super Screen. To enable rear projection capability, a mirror system redirects the projected image from your computer, VCR, DVD player or guest laptop onto the back of the interactive whiteboard screen, eliminating the distracting shadows that sometimes occur with a front projection system.

    When an image displays, adjust the computer power settings and the image alignment on the interactive screen. Then install the SMART Board software CD, configure the COM port, and perform a brief orientation procedure. To do this, complete the procedures on the pages that follow.

    SMART Board software. At the end of the installation, you can choose to put a shortcut to SMART Board software in your Startup Folder. We recommend that you do so. Then the SMART Board tools will always be open, and your interactive whiteboard will be fully functional whenever you start up your system.

    It's important to note that the SMART Board tools must be running to use the pen tray styluses and eraser. In other words, if you want to write on your interactive whiteboard with a pen tray stylus, make sure the SMART Board icon appears in the system tray (Windows operating system) or menu bar (Macintosh computer).
  • Page 42 Screen Capture toolbar will float on top of all your applications. You can now capture your annotation with a press of a button. Macintosh computer users can access the same annotation- capture capability from the SMART Board Tools menu. The captured image is automatically placed on a new page of the current Notebook file.

    Periodically clean the projector casing with a damp cloth. If it is heavily soiled you can use a mild detergent, but don't use strong detergent or a solvent, such as alcohol or thinner.
