MENU SCREEN OPERATION

Configuration items

D
Backlight
The function display and keys can be backlit for better visibil-
ity under low light conditions.
The backlight can be set to 7 levels and OFF.
D Display contrast
This item adjusts the contrast of the LCD in 8 steps.
Level 1 is the lowest contrast, and level 8 is the highest con-
trast.
D Key Beep
You can turn OFF beep tones for silent operation, or you can
turn ON the tones to have confirmation beeps sound when a
key is pushed.

D Key Assignment
Desired functions can be assigned to Dial and the softkeys.
When the "KEY ASSIGNMENT" screen is displayed, rotate

(Default: 7)
Dial or push [∫]/[√] to select "Dial" or "Softkeys," and then
push [ENT].
Rotate Dial or push [
w
and then push [ENT].
• To return to the default, select "Set default" and push [ENT].
(Default: 5)
For "Dial" assignment
Rotate Dial or push [

push [ENT] to set it.
• "✔" is displayed next to the selected option.
(Default: ON)
For "Dial" assignment
* [CHAN] is displayed instead of [CH/WX] for the IC-M423 and
IC-M423G except for Australian version.
