5.6.1 Adjusting the drive belt

If you notice that the rear wheel shaft is
no longer driven properly, it is possible
that the tension of the drive belts
(Fig. 16/2+8) is no longer sufficient or
the running surface of the friction wheel
(Fig. 16/9) is worn (distance between
wheel and running surface > 1mm).
1. Loosen the screw connection
(Fig. 16/7) in the friction wheel crank
(Fig. 16/6).
2. Tension the belt (Fig. 16/8) which
leads to the rear wheel shaft by
moving the friction wheel crank
(Fig. 16/6) in the slot using an
appropriate tool.
The friction wheel (Fig. 16/9)
thereby lies against the drive
shaft (Fig. 16/3).
3. Tighten the screw connection
(Fig. 16/7) in the friction wheel crank
(Fig. 16/6).
4. Check the belt tension with an
appropriate measuring instrument
(belt tension 95±5 Hz).
