Check that the surface mating with the driven plate is
perfectly smooth and flat.
Check that also the teeth meshing with starter motor
pinion is not damaged. Change, if necessary.

gear and the inner plate is perfectly smooth and flat. If
not, change the plate.

Check that the mating surfaces are perfectly smooth and
flat. If not, change the plate.

Check that spring is not yielded or bent.

EASSEMBLY
•
Working on the bench, reassemble the flywheel-clutch
unit "D". Respect marks "L" and "M" alignment;
•
Screw, but do not tighten, the six fastening screws
"B";
•
Position the flywheel-clutch unit inside the engine by
M
making sure that the "L" and "M" marks are aligned
with the reference "N" on engine block;
•
Tighten the six fastening screws "C" between flywheel-
clutch unit and crankshaft to the specified torque. See
page 94.
•
If removed, position the locking tool "A" (part no. 12
91 18 01);
•
Using special tool part no. 03906555, proceed to clutch
centering;
•
Tighten screws "B" between starter gear and flywheel
to the specified torque. Refer to the table in subsection
4 of section B.
