BMW Paint Cleaner are rec-
ommended for this.
Contamination of the paint fin-

Protective wax
coating
BMW Motorrad recommends
applying only BMW car wax or
products containing carnauba
wax or synthetic wax.
A sure sign that the paint
must be protected, is the fact
that water no longer pearls up
on it.

Storing motorcycle

Clean the motorcycle.
Remove the battery.
Spray the brake and clutch
lever pivots and the side
stand pivots with a suitable
lubricant.
Coat bare metal and
chrome-plated parts with
an acid-free grease (e.g.
Vaseline).
Park the motorcycle in a dry
room so that both wheels
are unloaded. Appropriate
auxiliary stands are available
at your authorized BMW
Motorrad retailer.
Before putting the mo-
torcycle into storage,
have the engine oil and the
oil filter element changed by
a specialist workshop, prefer-
ably an authorized BMW Mo-
torrad retailer. Combine work
for storing/returning to use
with maintenance service or
an inspection.
Returning motorcycle
to use

coating.
