Toswingawayorremovethefootrest,pullthehandletotherear(Fig.7).Thefootrestwithfoot-
platecanthenbeswungawaytotheinsideoroutsideby90°(Fig.8),orbeswungawayand
removedbypullingupward.
InfORMATIOn
Duringreassembly,ensurethatthefootrestlockingdevicehasengaged.
Transportationisgreatlyfacilitatedbytheremovablequick-releaseaxlesontherearwheels(in-
cludedinthestandardversion).
Toremovetherearwheels,pressthequick-releaseaxlebutton,asdescribedinsection3.The
rearwheelscanthenberemoved.(Fig.1).
CAUTIOn
Accident risk. Duringassembly,confirmthatallboltsengageinthecorrespondingboreholesandthat
thequick-releaseaxlesoftherearwheelsandcasterssecurelylockintotheiraxlehousings.Therear
wheelsandcastersmustnotberemovablewithoutthebuttonbeingdepressed!Checkthefunction
ofthewheellocks.
4.1 Transfer
Transferintothewheelchairisdescribedbelow.Thelightweightwheelchairisdesignedforper-
sonswhonormallymovearoundinthewheelchairindependently.Therefore,theindependent
transferisdescribed.Shouldyourequireanattendant,thestepsdescribedherearecarriedout
correspondinglybutwithsupport.
Manoeuvrethewheelchairssothattheyarepositionedatanangleofapprox.45°degrees
toeachother(Fig.9).Ensurethatthewheellocksdonotgetcaughtineachotherbutremain
freelymovable.Firstactivatethewheellocksofthewheelchairthatiscurrentlyinuse(Fig.10).
