productforversatileuseduringeverydaylife,bothindoorsandoutdoors.Beforeyoustartusing
yourwheelchair,pleasemakesureyoureadthechapter"Delivery/PreparingtheWheelchair
forUse"andthesafetyinstructions.
Thechapter"Accessories"presentsvariousadditionalcomponentsoftheStartwheelchair,
whichcanexpanditsfieldofapplicationandimprovecomfortforthewheelchairuser.The
chapter"Adjustment/AssemblyInstructions"providesanoverviewofthewaysthewheelchair
canbecustomisedtoyourrequirements.Technicalchangestothedesigndescribedinthese
instructionsforusearereserved.
1.2 Intended Use
TheStartlightweightwheelchairisdesignedsolelyforindividualusebypersonswhoareun-
abletowalkorwhohaveawalkingimpediment,andcanbeoperatedeitherbythepatientor
byanotherperson.
TheStartlightweightwheelchairmayonlybecombinedwiththeoptionsmentionedintheseIn-
structionsforUseandviceversa.Ottobockassumesnoliabilityforcombinationswithmedical
devicesand/oraccessoriesfromothermanufacturersoutsideofthemodularsystem.
1.3 Field of Application
Theversatilityofthewheelchairanditsmodulardesignmakeitsuitableforpatientswhohave
walkingimpedimentsorwalkinginabilities,forexampledueto:
