Some software and data may be stored, via RAM disk, in extended RAM (>1MB).
Note: Some software can load some or all of their code into EMS or XMS,
which uses RAM beyond the first MB.
To meet additional software and data storage needs:
•
Use DRVSPACE to compress the Flash disk and extend program and data
storage.
•
Add additional flash (e.g., 4 MB) to meet program and data storage needs.
•
Add additional RAM (beyond the first 8 MB, up to 16 MB).
•
Use DRVSPACE to compress the RAM disk.
Flash Disk or Compact-Flash, Augmented by Additional ATA
or SRAM Card
This configuration combines flash disk and PCMCIA storage to provide more flexibility in
meeting software and data storage needs.
•
The minimum configuration is the same as for either the Flash disk-based or
PCMCIA SRAM card-based options for DOS (4 MB of flash, 8 MB of RAM).
•
Add a PCMCIA ATA card or SRAM card, as needed, to meet application and data
storage needs.
•
Use DRVSPACE to compress disks to gain additional space.
Options to extend Flash disk, RAM disk, Compact flash disk and PCMCIA card storage
include:
•
Use DRVSPACE to compress the disks
•
Add Flash
•
Add RAM.
