Prestige 153/153X WAN Bridge Routers

Congratulations on the purchase of your ZyXEL Prestige 153/153X Remote Access Router. Your
Prestige integrates a Router and Bridge into a single package. In a modem-sized box, your
Prestige offers inexpensive yet complete telecommunications and internetworking solutions for
your home or branch office. The Prestige is ideal for everything from Internet browsing to
receiving calls from Remote Dial-in Users to making LAN-to-LAN connections to Remote
Nodes.
The Prestige 153 has three WAN-Ports which can be connected to the PSTN network via external
Modems or to the ISDN network by using ISDN-TAs (ISDN Terminal Adapters).
The Prestige 153X also has three WAN-Ports for connection to the PSTN or ISDN networks via
Modems or ISDN-TAs. In addition, the Prestige 153X supports synchronous signals on two
WAN-Ports; this allows the Prestige 153X to connect to FT1/FE1 (Fractional T1/E1) leased lines
via CSU/DSUs (Channel Service Unit/Digital Service Units).
