Hydraulic Fluid

Maintaining the proper hydraulic oil level and oil cleanliness is very important for continued trouble-free
operation of the mower. The fluid level should be checked daily before the mower is put into service. A visual
inspection of the hydraulic connections, hose guards and shielding should occur daily as well. The hydraulic
fluid can loose its ability to lubricate in a number of different ways, most commonly contamination and
overheating. Both scenarios can lead to catastrophic failure of the hydraulic components and costly repairs.
Alamo Industrial offers fluids, filters, and oil analysis capabilities to help you maintain your hydraulic powered
machine. Please be sure to follow the oil & filter change procedure that is outlined for your mower.

Checking Hydraulic Oil Level

DO NOT MIX HYDRAULIC OILS
Some specific properties of or detergents contained
in hydraulic oil and synthetic hydraulic oil vary and
when mixed will react and reduce the effectiveness
of both oils.
Risks of mixing different hydraulic fluids:
Corrosion or Yellow Metal Etching
Negative Foaming (Cavitation)
Incompatibility (Excessive Wear, Sludge,
Gumming, Etc.)
Alamo Industrial will only guarantee that our
products are free from defects if Panolin HLP
Synthetic E 46' Hydraulic Oil (PN TR477142) or
Panolin HLP Synthetic 46 hydraulic oil are used in
the hydraulic system. The use of another hydraulic
oil, or a mixture of the approved Panolin HLP and
another oil may severely affect the reliability of the
TRAXX RF hydraulic system.
The procedure for checking and replenishing the
machines hydraulic oil is as follows;
Park the machine on a firm level site.
Ensure engine is switched off and the key
removed and pocketed.
Release rubber hooks and raise the front
engine cover.
Unscrew the dipstick (located under the filler
cap), remove and wipe with a clean rag.
Replace dipstick with screwing in fully, then
remove again and check the level - oil level is
correct if the oil reaches the marker on the
dipstick.
If oil level is too low, top off using 'PANOLIN
HLP SYNTH E 46' oil. (P/N TR477142) or
Panolin HLP Synthetic 46 oil.
When oil level is correct, screw the dipstick
back in, close and secure the engine cover.
Note: Only use 'PANOLON HLP SYNTH E 46' oil or
PANOLIN HLP SYNTHETIC 46 OIL for topping off
and oil changes. Failure to use the specified oil will
result in a non-compliance of the Warranty.
