ROLLER BEARING REPLACEMENT

Securely support mower while removing and installing roller assembly.
The roller assembly provides support of the mower during operation and retains the load in
all conditions of normal operation. Severe conditions, lack of lubrication, and general abuse may result in
failure of the roller shaft bearing or the roller. Failure of the bearing, or the roller shaft is indicated by excessive
movement of the roller shaft inside the bearing housing.
Any failure of the bearing or roller must be addressed immediately to prevent damage to the mower housing,
cuttershaft or other components.
1. Proper replacement of the Roller Bearing or
Roller requires that the entire roller assembly
be removed from the mower housing.
2. Remove the two Roller Bracket Bolts which
retain the Roller Brackets to each side of the
mower housing.
Remove the Roller from the mower housing.
3. Remove the two bolts which retain the Roller
Bearing Housings to the Roller Brackets.
4. Remove the snap ring which retains the bearing
and bearing housing to the roller shaft.
Carefully inspect the roller bearing shaft and roller
for damage and replace the roller if required. Install
the new bearings and housings along with a new
snap ring to ensure proper operation. Reinstall the
roller assembly in the reverse of the disassembly.
Adjust the cutting height as required and ensure
that the roller is level across the width of the mower.
Install grease into the roller bearings.
Check the assembly for excessive movement.
