Threading the Machine

Raise the presser foot lifter.
Turn the power switch on.
Press the up/down needle position button twice to raise
the needle.
q Up/down needle position button
Turn the power switch off.
z Draw the thread around and under the upper thread
guide while holding the thread at the spool.
w Upper thread guide
x Draw the thread down along the right channel.
Then turn around the bottom of the guide plate.
e Guide plate
c Firmly draw the thread up to the take-up lever.
Slip the thread through the slit and into the eye of the
take-up lever.

v Then down through the lower thread guide.
y Lower thread guide
b Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide
on the left. Thread the needle from front to back or use
the needle threader.
u Needle bar thread guide.
Thread the needle using the needle threader (see the next
page).
