Overview

This guide explains how to use the basic features of your new 6757i IP phone. The
features assigned to your phone were chosen by your system administrator according to
the requirements of your organization; therefore, you may not have access to all the
features presented in this document.

Definition
Directory Lookup Service on the Pointspan System.
Internet Protocol (IP) is a data-oriented protocol used for
communicating data across a packet-switched network.
An identifier for a computer or device on a TCP/IP network.
Networks using the TCP/IP protocol route messages based on
the IP address of the destination. The format of an IP address
is a 32-bit numeric address written as four numbers separated
by periods. Each number can be zero to 255.
For example, 10.160.10.240 could be an IP address.
A number located on the white sticker on the bottom of the
phone that serves as a name for each phone.
The protocol for VOIP and other text and multimedia sessions,
such as instant messaging, video, online games and other
services.
A technology that allows you to make telephone calls using a
broadband Internet connectfion instead of a regular (or analog)
phone line.
