BLEEDING THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM /

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE STEERING HEAD

i. Repeat steps (e) to (h) until all air bubbles
have been removed from the system.
j. Add brake fluid to proper level.
WARNING
Check the operation of the brake after
bleeding the brake system.

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE
STEERING HEAD
1.Stand the scooter on a level surface.
WARNING
Securely support the scooter so that there is
no danger of it falling over.
NOTE:
Place the scooter on a suitable stand so that the
front wheel is elevated.
2.Check:
• steering head
Grasp the bottom of the front fork legs and
gently rock the front fork.
Binding/looseness → Adjust the steering head.

3.Remove:
• front cover
Refer to "FRONT COVER"
• handlebar
Refer to "REMOVING THE HANDLEBAR" in
chapter 6.
4.Adjust:
• steering head
a.Remove the upper ring nut
, the center ring nut
washer
b.Loosen the lower ring nut
it to specification with the ring nut wrench.
NOTE:
Set the torque wrench at a right angle to the ring
nut wrench.
