ADJUSTING THE REAR BRAKE

ADJUSTING THE REAR BRAKE
1. Check:
• brake pedal position
(distance a from the top of the rider footrest
to the top of the brake pedal)

Brake pedal position
(below the top of the rider footrest)

Out of specification
2. Adjust:
• brake pedal position
a. Loosen the bolt 1 of the adjusting dial 2.
b. Turn the adjusting dial 2 until the specified
brake pedal position is obtained, then tighten
the bolt 1.
c. Loosen the locknut 3.
d. Turn the adjusting bolt 4 in direction b or c
until the correct free play between brake pedal
Direction b b
Direction c c
Brake pedal and master
cylinder free play:
2 - 3 mm (at the front end
of the brake pedal)
and master cylinder is obtained.
Locknut
e. Tighten the locknut 1 to specification.

Adjust.
Brake pedal free play
is increased.
Brake pedal free play
is decreased.
12 Nm (1.2 m•kg)
