Simple Troubleshooting
Check the following items and, if the problem still occurs, call your service representative for
assistance.
Equipment does not start

Is the power cord plug securely
inserted in the outlet?
Is the front cover firmly closed?
Paper jamming occurs frequently
Item to be checked
Does the message: "Check
paper size setting on control
panel for drawer N (Bypass)"
appear?
Does the paper placed exceed
the line indicated inside of the
side guide?
Is the space between the side
guide of the drawer or the
bypass tray and the paper too
narrow/wide?
Has all of the jammed paper
removed?
Display does not change when buttons or icons are pressed
Item to be checked
Is the equipment in the energy
saving mode (Automatic energy
saving mode)?
Is the power OFF because the
weekly timer functions?
When the use of the equipment
is managed under department
management, is the correct
code entered?
When the use of the equipment
is managed under user manage-
ment, is the correct information
entered?
Is the "Warming up" message
displayed?
Countermeasure
Insert the power cord plug until it
comes to a stop.
Close the cover properly.
Countermeasure
Match the size of the paper
placed in the drawer or on the
bypass tray and the one regis-
tered to the equipment.
Remove some of the sheets of
paper and place them with the
paper height not exceeding the
line indicated.
Keep an appropriate space
between the side guide and
paper, and then place paper
straight along the side guide.
Since the jammed paper may not
be easily found, follow the guid-
ance shown on the touch panel.
Countermeasure
Press the [ENERGY SAVER] or
[START] button on the control
panel to clear the mode. (It takes
a while for the equipment to
become ready.)
Press the [START] button to
return the power ON.
Key in the correct department
code.
Enter the user information cor-
rectly.
Wait until the equipment
becomes ready.
